Alamiyah School is a newly registered independent Muslim Montessori primary catering for ages 3-11 years. The school initially started off as an Ofsted registered Pre-school in September 2011 and was rated outstanding by Ofsted in June 2015. The school operates under the Alamiyah Educational Foundation which is a UK registered charity with registered charity no.1158578.

The children that come to Alamiyah are from diverse backgrounds and socio-economic groups. The school is the first of it’s kind in Barking & Dagenham and has been serving the community for the last 5 years by providing an academic and holistic education which is inspired by the Prophetic Tradition.

Alamiyah School creates a safe environment for the children, one that is in line with the teachings and character of the Prophet. This is combined with the Montessori method of education to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which includes:

  • Qur’an recitation,
  • Arabic Language
  • Literacy and Language
  • Numeracy and Maths
  • Science, Geography and History
  • Drama and Movement
  • Outdoor play and exploration

The school is led by an enthusiastic group of teachers trained in the Montessori approach, with many years experience with young children and is managed by a group of teachers who understand the comprehensive school model and have sought to provide an education model based on quality and integrity, with the child at the centre of learning. Alamiyah school ensures that all the child’s needs are met including their emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Something which is lacking in many state or private Muslim and secular schools.

We are currently renting a property in Dagenham but due to space restrictions we are unable to grow the school further to cater for the vast number of children on the school waiting list.

We desperately to secure premises so that we can build the school and offer so much to the community including:

  • Running the School there with increased capacity
  • Community hall hire space
  • A whole host of workshops
  • Teacher training centre
  • Clubs before and after school
  • Toddler groups
  • Weekend courses
  • Tuition centre
  • Summer school
  • Qur'an school
  • And much much more!

This opportunity is too valuable to miss, as the impact that can be had on the community is huge.  Supporting our work will mean you not only plant the seeds for those leading tomorrow's society but also for yourself in the sharing the reward of all the beneficial knowledge our children implement in their lives. For this, the rewards are truly limitless and everylasting.

“Who is he that will lend to Allah a beautiful loan so that He may multiply it to him many times? And it is Allah that decreases or increases (your provisions), and unto Him you shall return.”

(Qur’an 2:245)

The school means so much to so many people in the local community and they all want to see it grow. Here’s what some of our supporters have to say:

‘We found our daughter reciting Al-Fatihah, we were both surprised as we hadn’t taught her all of it. She had picked this up from school…..this school really complements what we are trying to achieve with our children in preserving their innocence and planting all the right seeds’

Umm Hidaayah and Hammad

‘Alamiyah has been another home to my son. He has been developed, protected and nurtured by the dedicated staff and has thrived in an environment which puts the child, and only the child, first.’

Umm Yusuf

‘The school provides a caring, friendly and calm learning environment, which has helped shape my son’s personality. The holistic approach is very natural and I feel very blessed to send Dawud to your school!’

Umm Dawud

We need the support of our members and parents as well as the benevolence of the community, businesses and individuals to help us reach our goal.

"When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity); knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him."
